Grimmia herzogii, a Misunderstood South American Endemic

Abstract Grimmia herzogii Broth., synonyms G. nigella Herzog, and G. trollii Herzog, is described, and contrasted with G. longirostris Hook. Although these two names have been considered by some as synonyms, they are here recognized as distinct species.
