Teaching Information Literacy Using Children's Literature

The main objective of this action research was to test a new model for teaching information literacy skills to primary school children. The model combines literary activities with information literacy skills instruction and is presented in the form of an Internet workshop. The empirical evidence collected during the research process included data generated by students, a short questionnaire for students, teachers' feedback and observation of students' behaviour during the workshop. The action research was instructive for educators because it brought to light some interesting particulars regarding teaching information research skills.
