A Common-Mode Voltage Reduction Method of FCS-MPC in H8 Inverter for SPMSM Drive System Considering Dead-Time Effect
2019
In this paper, a common-mode voltage (CMV) reduction method of finite control set model predictive current control (FCS-MPC) is proposed for H8 inverter topology driving SPMSM. Although many conventional methods for the common-mode voltage reduction have been researched in the model predictive current control process, the realistic implementation of those methods is very difficult because of the additional control complexity. In this paper, H8 inverter which has the additional switches connected in series on the dc bus is used for SPMSM drive system, and the CMV reduction method of FCS-MPC is proposed for H8 inverter with consideration of dead-time effects. Therefore, the proposed method not only restricts the CMV within ±1/4 V dc by floating the inverter from dc bus but also has low load current THD thanks to the utilization of the zero voltage vectors. The validity of the proposed method in H8 inverter topology is verified with simulation and experimental results.
