Application of Matlab in the Design Calculation of Electromagnet

In this paper, the magnetic circuit of DC solenoid electromagnet with frustum magnet core and ar- mature was analyzed,and the method of magnetic circuit calculation( including the calculations of the magnetic re- sistance ,of the magnetic flux and of the attraction,etc.)was described.Based on the powerful numerical value computation capability and the plentiful function libraries of Mulat,the calculation of the static attraction charac- teristic of DC solenoid electromagnet was implemented and its characteristic curve was plotted by programming in Matlab, and the program flow chart was given.The calculation examples of the attraction characteristies for three different type electromagnets were given.
