Design of broadband antenna system for automatic dependent surveillance - broadcast

2017
This paper deals with a design of a broadband patch antenna element for an ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast) system. An ADS-B system works on the frequencies of 1030 MHz and 1090 MHz. In this paper two types of patch antenna radiating elements have been described. An antenna synthesis of four radiating elements to obtain a higher system gain and better space coverage was performed. The paper contains a comparison between a numerical model in Matlab software, a computer model simulation in a CST Microwave Studio and a fabricated component.
