Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of neurodegenerative disorder with dementia in the elderly and the number of affected individuals after the age of 60, rising from a prevalence of 1% at age 60 to 40% for individuals over 85 years old. The brain areas involved in memory include the cortex, hippocampus. The AD brain pathology is characterized by deposits of amyloid-β (Aβ) peptides and neurofibrillary tangles (NFT) characterize by signs of a chronic inflammatory process. β -APP metabolism is occur by 2 pathways and , .
