Effect of Nano-Selenium on Testicular Growth and Development in Boar Goat

2008
An experiment was conduct to study the effect of nano-Se on testicular growth and development in Boar Goat.Total 20 goats were randomly divided into 2 groups, and fed basal diet or supplementation 0.3 mg/kg nano-Se(as Se conten)t.After 2 weeks of pretrial, the testicular length, height and girth were measured for every month, and castratsd one randomly. One of the testis was made the microscopic section, and observed the testicular microstructure. The results showed that the interstitial tissue was observed in 3 month-old,and spermatogonia began developed in convoluted seminiferous tubules in 4 month, the spermatozoa and spermatids were observed in 5 month of nano-Se group.Compared with the supplementation group, the goats in control was slow on the development of interstitial tissue and convoluted seminiferous tubules. It was suggested that supplementation nano-Se promoted development of testiscular interstitial tissue and convoluted seminiferous tubules.
