The present invention discloses a control apparatus for a vehicle having at least two surroundings sensors, with a computing device which is coupled with the environmental sensors and which is designed to check the plausibility of sensor data from the environment sensors against each other and to create based on the sensor data an environment model of the environment of the vehicle, the computing means is configured to output an error signal when a plausibility check of the sensor data is negative. Further, the present invention discloses a corresponding vehicle and to a corresponding method.
