Surgical management of ventral hernia in Dumba sheep.

2019
A Dumba sheep was presented with swelling at right caudo-ventral abdomen. Three finger hernial ring was palpated with reducible contents. Ultrasonographically, intestinal loops were visible in swelling confirming ventral hernia. The animal was operated under epidural and local anaesthesia. The hernial ring was exposed and herniated content pushed back into abdomen. The abdomen was closed with overlapping suture technique. The animal recovered without any complications.
