Radiowave propagation modelling for ITU and WRC regulatory activities

2011
Study Group 3 of the ITU Radiocommunication Bureau deals with research activities carried out worldwide on Radiowave propagation providing descriptive and tutorial material to be considered for telecommunication applications. Such work typically identifies relevant propagation effects and mechanisms and develops propagation prediction methods. The predictions are needed for the design and operation of Radiocommunication services and for the assessment of frequency sharing between them. In view of the next World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-12), to be held in 2012, several studies are under developments to assist existing and future services. This paper presents activities in propagation modelling which are currently pursued.
