Expression of transcription factor Ets-1 in human colorectal cancer tissue

2007
Aim:To detect the expression of transcription factor Ets-1 and study its relationship with tumor infiltration and metastasis in colorectal carcinoma. Methods:Tissue samples were collected from 40 patients(22 cases of male,18 cases of female;29 cases of adenocarcinoma,11 cases of mucous carcinoma;differentiation:15 cases of high grade,25 cases of low and middle grade;invading:28 cases of deep level,12 cases of shallow level;16 cases with lymphatic metastasis,24 cases without lymphatic metastasis)underwent surgery. The expression of Ets-1 was detected in samples by immunhistochemistry analysis. Results:The express of Ets-1 protein in cancer tissue was significantly higher than that in normal mucosa tissues(P0.05).The expression of Ets-1 protein in cancer tissue was correlated with invading grade(P0.05),but had no correlationship with differentiation and lymph nod metastasis(P0.05).Conclusion:The occurrence of colorectal carcinoma and the formation of invasion may be related with over expression of Ets-1 protein.
