Competition between the dissociation channels via H∼←B∼2Σu+ and C∼2Σg+←B∼2Σu+ transitions for CS2+ ions

2006
Abstract A model is provided to deal with the competition between the [1 + 1] dissociation channel via H ∼ ← B ∼ 2 Σ u + ( 0 0 0 , 1 0 0 ) ← X ∼ 2 Π g, 3 / 2 ( 0 0 0 ) transitions and the [1 + 1′] dissociation channel via the C ∼ 2 Σ g + ( 0 0 0 , 1 0 0 ) ← B ∼ 2 Σ u + ( 0 0 0 , 1 0 0 ) ← X ∼ 2 Π g, 3 / 2 ( 0 0 0 ) transitions for CS 2 + ions. The dependence of the product branching ratios R  = [S + ]/[CS + ] on the intensity ratios R I  =  I 2 / I 1 of two dissociation lasers was measured. By fitting the R I – R data with the theoretical formula the excitation cross section ratios of R σ (0 0 0)  =  σ C(0 0 0) / σ H(0 0 0)  = 0.55 ± 0.07 and R σ (1 0 0)  =  σ C(1 0 0) / σ H(1 0 0)  = 0.43 ± 0.04 have been obtained for the competitions between C ∼ ( 0 0 0 ) ← B ∼ ( 0 0 0 ) and H ∼ ← B ∼ ( 0 0 0 ) transitions, and between C ∼ ( 1 0 0 ) ← B ∼ ( 1 0 0 ) and H ∼ ← B ∼ ( 1 0 0 ) transitions, respectively.
