SCTPvs.TCPDelay andPacket Loss

Streamcontrol Transmission protocol (SCTP)isanew transport layer protocol, proposed byIETFinRFC 4960. Inthis paperwehavedoneasimulation-based comparison ofimportant Quality ofService parameter delay andtheimpact ofpacket loss onthethroughput usingSCTPandTCP Sackasa transport protocol innetwork simulator (ns-2) inwirednetwork. Ourresult showsthatSCTPandTCPSackshowsimilar behavior intermof delay insingle flowandcompeting traffic whileSCTPachieves higher throughput thanTCP whendifferent lossprobability is induced inthenetwork.
