The preparation of eukaryotic cells for entry into mitosis is related to a cascade of G2 phase phosphorylations of several nuclear proteins (Adlakha et al., 1985; Ottaviano and Gerace, 1985; Lee and Nurse, 1988) driven by mitosis specific protein kinases (Ha-leck et al., 1987; Dessev et al., 1988; Draetta and Beach, 1988).
