Preparation of intelligent DNA hydrogel and its applications in biosensing

Abstract Intelligent DNA hydrogel is a new kind of material and a hot field of interdisciplinary research. DNA hydrogel has the dual advantages of DNA and hydrogel. It combines the biological characteristics of DNA with the skeleton function of hydrogel. Intelligent DNA hydrogel can respond to stimuli (such as pH, temperature, enzyme, etc.) and undergo a transition between gel and sol. Intelligent DNA hydrogel has been widely used in the field of biosensing and drug delivery because of its good stability, biocompatibility and biodegradability. In this paper, the preparation methods of different types of intelligent DNA hydrogel, the applications and prospect of intelligent DNA hydrogel in the field of biosensing are reviewed.
