Simplified analysis of transmission line derived pulsers

1990
The authors demonstrate the ease of modeling pulse forming lines (PFLs) in typical power modulator systems using 'off-the-shelf' circuit analysis software (i.e., MicroCAP). They start with a simple PFL circuit to obtain an output; then they extend this technique to complex PFL circuits such as cumulative wave lines and Darlington networks. This simple technique will allow the researcher to investigate transmission line circuits for a wide range of applications (such as frozen wave generators). With this technique, it is possible to obtain presentation quality graphics without the difficulty of having to write one's own computer code for simulation and output driver for quality graphics. >
