Integrated device current interruption for lithium ion cells

A battery (10) comprising: a) a first terminal (26) in electrical communication with a first electrode (12) of the battery; b) a second terminal (40) in electrical communication with a second electrode (14) of the battery; c) a housing (21) battery it is including aluminum and is electrically insulated from the first terminal, wherein at least a portion of the battery case is at least one component of the second terminal, or is electrically connected to the second terminal, including battery housing container (22) of cells and a cover (24) are in electrical communication with each other; d) at least one device (28) of current interruption in electrical communication with the battery case, including the device current interruption, i) a first conductive plate (30) in electrical communication with the second electrode; and ii) a second conductive plate (32) in electrical communication with the first conductive plate, wherein the second conductive plate separates from the first conductive plate when pressure inside the battery is greater than a predetermined value, interrupting thus one current flow between the second electrode and the second terminal, wherein the first terminal is a negative terminal, the second terminal is a positive terminal and each of the first and second conductive plates and the device for interrupting the stream includes aluminum.
