INCLUSIÓN SOCIAL EN LA EDUCACIÓN SUPERIOR ECUATORIANA. AVANCES Y DESAFÍOS EN LA UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE MANABÍ

El sistema educativo del Ecuador constituye un referente de interes para muchos paises y observadores en Latinoamerica en materia de educacion inclusiva, con especial referencia a la educacion superior. En los ultimos anos en este contexto, se refleja un crecimiento significativo desde el punto de vista del acceso a las universidades publicas, asi como en indicadores relacionados con la calidad de la formacion y en el incremento de su presupuesto. El trabajo tiene como objetivo, destacar a partir de elementos relacionados con la implementacion de politicas y estrategias concretas en el ambito de la inclusion social; los avances alcanzados en los ultimos 5 anos en la Universidad Tecnica de Manabi, al tiempo que subrayar los principales retos que se enfrentan en el proposito de lograr una Educacion Superior de alta calidad, con oportunidades para todos los ciudadanos. ADVANCES AND CHALLENGES AT MANABI TECHNICAL UNIVERSIT Y ABSTRACT Educative system in Ecuador constitutes referring of interest for many countries and observers in Latin America on the matter of inclusive education, with special reference to Higher Education. In recently years, a significant growth on public universities access, as well as in indicators related to the quality of the formation and increases in its budget, is reflected. The objective of present paper, is centered to emphasize about elements related to the implementation of policies and concrete strategies in the scope of the social inclusion; the advances reached in the last 5 years in the Technical University of Manabi, and remark the main challenges that face in the intention to obtain a Superior Education of high quality, with opportunities for all the citizens.
