Mobile terminal and unlocking method thereof

The invention discloses an unlocking method of a mobile terminal. The unlocking method of the mobile terminal includes: when the mobile terminal is in a locked state, displaying a motion icon in a touch screen of the mobile terminal, and prompting an unlocking gesture related to the motion icon; detecting position information and moving track information of a touch point, of a user, on the touch screen; judging whether the touch point is located within an unlocking range of the motion icon or not according to the position information; if so, further judging whether the moving track information of the touch point corresponds to the gesture of unlocking related to the prompted motion icon or not; if so, switching the mobile terminal to an unlocked state. The corresponding unlocking gesture can be executed according to the motion icon and the prompted unlocking gesture displayed on the touch screen, so that the mobile terminal can be switched to the unlocked state, and the unlocking method is high in user experience.
