The liquid crystal display system comprises a display module and the main control unit, wherein the display module is configured to provide a recognition code to the main control unit and display images according to commands and data received from the main control unit; and the main control unit is configured to provide the commands and data having a format compatible with the display module to the display module according to the recognition code. According to the liquid crystal display system, the liquid crystal display method and the main control unit, the main control unit selects a corresponding command system according to the recognition code provided by the display module, so as to provide the commands and data having the format compatible with the display module to the display module, thus the liquid crystal display system can be compatible with various kinds of display driving chips without changing hardware design of the liquid crystal display system.
