Community - Based intervention package on knowledge, attitude and selected skills of home care among primary care givers of children with cerebral palsy

Cerebral Palsy is the third most common and major developmental disability. Global data on the need for rehabilitation in the developing countries are increasing and only few of them receive the medical rehabilitation and assistive devices they need. To combat these problems, community- based rehabilitation evolved and was found to be extremely useful in rehabilitating people with disability in the community setting. A pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test study design was used to assess the effectiveness of a Community - Based Intervention Package (CBIP) on knowledge, attitude, and selected skills of primary care givers of children with Cerebral Palsy regarding home care in Vellore City. Convenience sampling was used to select 40 study subjects who were the primary care givers of children with cerebral palsy. A structured interview guide prepared by the investigator was used to collect data for the study.
