Helioseismic Inferences on the Internal Structure and Dynamics of the Sun

2019
Abstract Helioseismology has made it possible to peel back the outer layers of the Sun to allow inferences to be made about its internal structure, dynamics, and solar cycle–related changes. In this chapter, we introduce helioseismic analyses, in particular inversion methods, and then discuss knowledge that has been acquired through the application of these analysis techniques to what is now an observational data archive stretching back over a few solar cycles.
