Development of Modified Jaggery Moulding Frame for Cubical Shape Jaggery

Jaggery is an important product of sugarcane in India. It is produced in different shapes and sizes. For standardization of shape and size, ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow has developed moulding frames for producing jaggery in brick and cube shape. This facilitated moulding, handling and packaging and distribution. Jaggery produced in 25 mm cube shape is very much liked by the people and the frame for such shape is in much demand. As per inputs received by the users, this frame was modified. Modified frame eliminated the use of G.I. wire and spacers used in earlier frame. Problem of bending of G.I. wire and misplacement problem of spacers has been eliminated besides requirement for extra workmanship in making of spacers. Modified frame also took lesser time in assembling and dismantling.
