Arthroscopic Revision of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

2021
There is currently an increasing incidence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture associated with changes in lifestyle and increasing sports activities. Related to this, together with the increase in primary ACL surgeries, it has been observed that there is an increase in the number of revision operations. When this is looked at from a socioeconomic perspective, there is a need for more detailed studies of the pathology and treatment forms of ACL surgery. Although there are several surgical techniques and fixation options, it still seems to be difficult to achieve normal knee kinematics. Following primary ACL reconstruction, rates of revision because of graft failure have been reported in literature, varying from 3% to 25% [1–3].
