Thinned-out controlled class D inverter with delta-sigma modulated 1-bit driving pulses

2005
In this paper, the application of delta-sigma modulated 1-bit driving pulses to the class D voltage-switching series resonant inverter is proposed. Following the modulated 1/0 code, the gate-driving pulses to the inverter are eliminated. The class D inverter, operating at 200 kHz, generates an AC output voltage at 50 Hz through the additional switching legs. All the switch devices keep zero voltage and/or zero current switching. The modulation scheme and the circuit configuration are introduced. The waveforms are numerically calculated and the output waveform is in good agreement with the desired one. Calculation results are verified with Matlab Simulink simulation.
