Structural, electrical and dielectric properties of neodymium substituted copper nickel ferrite

2017
In the present investigation, copper nickel ferrites CuxNi(1−x)Fe2O4 (where x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6) particles are prepared successfully through solid state reaction method with 0.5 % of Nd as added an dopant. The prepared samples were investigated; the structural and morphological studies show the presence of rare earth ion and their influence on the lattices at high sintered temperature at 850 °C which indicates smooth grains from SEM micro graph. Addition of rare earths, less percentage has affected the lattice which in turn shows the variation in lattice constant. Based on the results from XRD confirms the secondary phase observed in the peak. The structural properties are discussed with XRD and SEM analysis. The elemental analysis carried out by EDS. The electrical conductivity increases with increase in applied frequency, decreases in dielectric constant for all the compositions and reaches a constant value. The dielectric properties further interpreted with dielectric loss measurements.
