EFFECT OF TIN ON PROPERTIES OF TITANIUM

Experiments with titanium alloys with up to 10% tin show that the alpha -- beta transformation of titanium is shifted by tin to lower temperatures, i.e., tin may be regarded as beta -stabilizing alloying element. The influence of the tin addition on different properties and the heat treatment are discussed. (auth)
