Applications of an Early Warning System for Farmland Subsurface Waterlogging

2016
Hazard monitoring and early warning play key roles in farmland disaster relief. In this article, hardware for a hazard monitoring system and a software system for the early warning about flood condition system are proposed. Parameters for the proposed model were determined via in situ experiments, and an early warning system for farmland subsurface waterlogging was developed. Experiments demonstrated that the hardware for the hazard monitoring system was portable and the early warning system interface was user-friendly; furthermore, the simulation results were highly consistent with experimental measurements. The proposed system exhibits great potential for practical applications. It could create a significant effect on local drainage system management and significantly improve economic benefits derived from farming.
