Optimizing spatial database performance for handling moving objects

2016
Spatial databases are meant to query spatial objects with constraints like distance, number of objects (K Nearest Neighbors), Area (geo-fence) and time. However, this query processing becomes complicated because of frequent updates of moving objects. Optimizing the data structures to store the spatial objects are common practices. Proposed study is focused on classifying the data as moving or static. Based on the class, the object is stored either in InMemory Data Base (IMDB) or on disk. This saves infrastructure cost and optimizes updating and querying time of objects.
