Performance of an elliptically polarized undulator beamline

2001
Abstract A high performance wide range elliptically polarized undulator beamline is under commissioning at SRRC. The dragon-type design with two independent entrance slits has been employed to cover photon energies from 60 to 1400 eV. The energy resolution of the beamline has been measured using Ar, N 2 , and Ne absorption spectra. The photon flux as a function of energy has been recorded by photodiode and gives an average of flux greater than 1×10 12 photons/s/200 mA with both slits set at 10 μm. Based on spin polarized photoemission and magnetic circular dichroism results, the degree of polarization calculated from the spin-polarized resolved spectrum is estimated to be better than 95% in the first harmonic undulator radiation.
