The diagnostic significance of pancreatic enzymes in the blood serum and urine in chronic pancreatitis

1989
: The diagnostic value of blood serum and urinary amylase, lipase, and trypsin in exacerbations of chronic relapsing pancreatitis is discussed. In exacerbations of this condition the blood and urine amylase levels are increased within the first 3 days, trypsin and lipase concentrations are elevated starting from the second and up to the 14th day. These data help correctly choose the enzymic test for the diagnosis of the disease, with due consideration for its duration.
