On the fauna of the subfamily Phasiinae (Diptera: Tachinidae) in northwestern Iran

AbstractThe fauna of the subfamily Phasiinae (Diptera: Tachinidae) in northwestern Iran was studied from 2009 to 2014. A total of 4 tribes, 14 genera and 24 species of Phasiinae were recorded. The genus Hemyda (Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830) and the species Clytiomya sola (Rondani, 1861), Cistogaster mesnili (Zimin, 1966), Clairvillia pninae (Kugler, 1971), Hemyda obscuripennis (Meigen, 1824) and Besseria lateritia (Meigen, 1824) were reported from Iran for the first time. All data on species collection, their general distribution and reported hosts are presented. Diagnostic characters of the species new for Iran are given.
