Effects of dispersion in a 565 Mbit/s optical fibre laboratory system

565 Mbit/s system tests are described, aimed at revealing the combined effects of pulse-broadening and mode-partition dispersion, which are of principal interest in system design. The tests make use of single-mode fibres with dispersion zeros at both 1300 and 1550 nm.
