Bringing prosecutions for unlawful act manslaughter

Where there is clear evidence that the accused committed a violent and unlawful act, a lesser standard of evidence should be required that the violence was a cause of death in order to justify a prosecution for manslaughter. Further, it is a serious, but apparently recurrent, mistake to seek to analyse such cases as gross negligence. manslaughter.
