PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel polypeptides having potent antimicrobial activity useful for prevention, amelioration or treatment of such as burn, bedsore, injury, skin ulcer, limb ulcer, diabetic ulcer, occlusive arterial diseases and occlusive arterial sclerosis, cellulitis, acute lymphangitis, lymphadenitis, erysipelas, skin abscess, necrotizing subcutaneous infection, staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome (SSSS), folliculitis, furuncle, suppurative hidradenitis, carbunculosis, infectious paronychia, erythrasma and serious infections (septicemia), and antimicrobial agents, antifungal agents, or disinfectants comprising such a polypeptide as an effective ingredient.SOLUTION: An exemplary polypeptide has an amino acid sequence represented by Ile Phe Leu His Arg Leu Lys Arg Met Arg Lys Arg Leu Lys Arg Lys Leu Arg Leu Trp.SELECTED DRAWING: None
