Prurigo pigmentosa: A case report

Prurigo pigmentosa etyolojisi bilinmeyen nadir gorulen bir deri hastaligidir. Klinik olarak kasintili eritemli papul ve papulovezikuller ile karakterizedir. Lezyonlar genellikle govdeye, sirtin ust kismina, sakral bolgeye, karina ve goguse yerlesir ve postinflamatuar hiperpigmentasyon ile iyilesir. Sirtta ve govde on yuzunde kahverengi lekeler ve kasinti hikayesiyle poliklinigimize basvuran 22 yasindaki bir kadin olguya, klinik ve histopatolojik ozellikleri ile prurigo pigmentosa tanisi konuldu. Prurigo pigmentosanin nadir gorulen bir hastalik olmasi ve olgunun doksisiklin tedavisine cevap vermesi nedeniyle sunulmaya deger bulunmustur. Prurigo pigmentosa is a rare dermatosis with unknown etiology. Clinically; it is characterized by pruritic erythematous papules, papulovesicles that spontaneously resolve, leaving reticulated hyperpigmentation. Lesions usually locate on the trunk, upper part of the back, the sacral area, abdomen and chest. A 22-year-old woman presented to our clinic with pruritic brown macules on her neck and chest, which by means of supportive clinical and histopathological features, was diagnosed as prurigo pigmentosa. We present a patient with a rarely seen disease who was treated effectively with doxycycline.
