ANLAMLI ETKİNLİKLERE KATILIM ÖLÇEĞİNİN PSİKOMETRİK ÖZELLİKLERİ: TÜRKİYE’DE İLERİ YAŞ ÖRNEKLEMİ ÜZERİNE BİR ÇALIŞMA/Psychometric Properties of Engagement in Meaningful Activities Survey: A Study on Later Life Sample in Turkey

Oz Cesitli etkinliklere katilim, bireylerin yasam kalitelerini ve refah duzeylerini  arttiran onemli bir unsurdur. Bu calismanin amaci Goldberg ve arkadaslari  (2002) tarafindan gelistirilen, daha sonra Eakman ve arkadaslari  (2010) tarafindan yasli bireylerle gecerlilik ve guvenilirlik calismasi yurutulen  “Anlamli Etkinliklere Katilim Olcegi”nin Turkce formunun psikometrik analizlerinin yapilmasidir. Arastirma Karabuk (n=150) ve Kirikkale (n=135)  illerinde yasamlarini surduren, 60 ve daha yukari yas grubunda olan toplam  285 birey ile yurutulmustur. Olcegin psikometrik ozelliklerini test etmek  amaciyla istatistiksel olarak hem acimlayici hem de dogrulayici faktor analizleri  uygulanmistir. Acimlayici faktor analizi, olcegin orijinal formuna benzer  sekilde “Kisisel yeterlilik bileseni” ve “Sosyal deneyim bileseni” olarak adlandirilan  iki alt boyuttan olustugunu ve toplam varyansin %60.8’sini acikladigini  gostermistir. Dogrulayici faktor analizi ise olcegin 12 maddeden olusan  iki faktorlu yapisinin iyi uyum indekslerine sahip bir model olarak dogrulamistir.  AEK olceginin geneli icin Cronbach Alfa .90, “Kisisel yeterlilik bileseni”  icin .81 ve “Sosyal deneyim bileseni” icin .86 olarak hesaplanmistir. The aim of this study was  to determine the validity and reliability of Engagement in Meaningful Activities  Survey of the Turkish version, which was developed by Goldberg et al.  (2002) and then carried out validity and reliability analysis with older sample  by Eakman et al. (2010). The study conducted with a total of 285 individuals  who is 60 and over age group and living in Karabuk (n=150) and Kirikkale  (n=135) city center. In order to test the psychometric properties of the scale,  both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyzes were applied statistically.  According to the results of the exploratory factor analysis, it was found that  the Engagement in Meaningful Activities Survey consisted of two subdimensions  called “Personal–Competence component” and “Social– Experiential component” similar to the original form, and had a structure explaining  60.8% of the total variance. According to the confirmatory factor  analysis, the two-factor structure of the scale with 12 items was confirmed as  a model with good fit indexes. The Cronbach Alpha .90 for the hole of Engagement  in Meaningful Activities Survey, .81 for the “Personal– Competence component” and .86 for the “Social–Experiential component”  show that the reliability level of the scale is high.
