Perspectives for pulsed positrons

Abstract The Aarhus Positron Facility is based on electroproduced positrons with an intensity of about 40,000 moderated e + per pulse with a repetition rate of up to 20 Hz. Since the positrons are subsequently bunched to pulse-widths of a few ns, the facility is ideally suited for experiments involving pulsed lasers. We discuss the status of the facility and proposed experiments, e.g. multi-photon ionization of Ps and photo-detachment of Ps − .
