Synthesis and characterization of a new iron(III) oxide cluster containing two different discrete [Fe 3 O] units: [Fe 3 O(O 2 CCH CH CH 3 ) 6 (H 2 O) 3 ][Fe 3 O(O 2 CCH CH H 3 ) 7 (H 2 O) 2 ] (HO 2 CCH CH CH 3 ) 4 (OH)(H 2 O)

A new complex containing two different discrete trinuclear oxo-centered [Fe3O] units has been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and M€ spectra. The M€ spectra of the complex are typical of high spin iron(III) complexes. 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
