Dimethoate Residues in Leafy Crops

1966
Analysis of samples of broccoli, cabbage, collards, kale, spinach, and turnip greens showed that dimethoate disappeared within 14 days after application to these crops in the field. Dimethoate persisted as long as 21 days in lima beans, snap beans, and soybeans. Peas still contained residues 21 days after application, although no dimethoate was found in the fruit where analyzed separately from the vines. Erratic coverage was noted when peas were sprayed by helicopter.
