Determinants of Women Empowerment

This paper focused upon understanding the concept of women empowerment and determinants critical to it. The study was conducted in Hyderabad region for determining women empowerment level on five key indicators identified from the literature. Primary data was collected through online questionnaire and informal interviews from randomly selected 200 female and 20 male respondents respectively. Results indicate women empowerment in Hyderabad on four out of five indicators i.e. economic participation, education, health and nutrition and media.
