Design of Low RCS Spiral Antenna with Low Profile

In this work, a low radar cross section (RCS) spiral antenna with low-profile is proposed. An impedance surface is attached below the radiate structure to reduce the scattering wave caused by the edge of spiral lines. A metallic ring is covered on the spirals to reduce exposed area. By enlarging the radius of the spiral radiator, the profile of the antenna is reduced. The monostatic RCS is reduced in S band. Meanwhile, the radiation performances of the antenna are well kept.
