Raman Tensor of Quasi-One-Dimensional ZrTe5 Thin Flakes

Due to the influence of topological properties from the lattice structure character, layered pentatelluride ZrTe5 has been comprehensively investigated. Here, we report the Raman optical response of the (010) surface in layered ZrTe5, and the vibrational modes of all the observed Raman peaks could be differentiated through parallel and perpendicular polarization Raman scattering methods. Moreover, by fitting the theoretical formula to the experimental curve at parallel polarization, the Raman tensor element ratio of $$ c $$ to $$ a $$ for the Ag vibrational mode was obtained, which suggested significant anisotropic optical susceptibility.
