Investigation on a Rubella Outbreak

[Objective]To study the cause of the rubella outbreak and explore the control measure for it.[Methods]To investigate a rubella outbreak in Haiyun College during April and May in 2010.[Results]The cases of the disease amounted to 14 from April 26 to May 15 in 2010.The total incidence rate was 0.98%,14 cases were male,belonging to six classes,with living together history.the main symptoms were fever(100.00%),rash(100.00%),lymphadenopathy(100.00%),cough(71.43%),conjunctivitis(78.57%).There was no history of rubella vaccination,IgM antibodies of rubella were positive.[Conclusion]The cause of the rubella outbreak is that old children are not vaccinated against rubella.More attention should be paid to the rubella outbreak during the working of eliminating measles.
