Operating state control method and device

The invention discloses an operating state control method and device applied to electronic devices. The method includes: when the first electronic device and the second electronic device are connected in a wired or wireless manner, judging whether or not the first electronic device is in a charging state and/or the first electronic device is in a data transmission date with the second electronic device so as to obtain a first judgment result; if the first judgment result indicates that the first electronic device is not in the charging state and/or the first electronic device is not in the data transmission state, transmitting a first control command to the second electronic device so that the second electronic device executes the first control command and switches from a first operating mode to a second operating mode. The operating state control method and device according to the scheme has the advantages that a computer can automatically shut off or hibernate after charging or data transmission for a mobile device is complete, computer resources wasted after the charging or data transmission for the mobile terminal is complete is avoided, and shortened life of a battery caused by cyclic charging is prevented.
