Follow-up in Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty for Renal Artery Stenosis and Occlusion
1983
Since February 1980 we have performed transluminal renal angioplasty [5, 6, 9] in 21 patients, including two with transplanted kidneys. The follow-up time ranged between 2 and 27 months. As a technical modification we used our own 8-F guiding catheters instead of the original 9-F catheters (Angiomed, Esslingen) [1, 2]. Except in one case no attempt was made to cross the stenosis with a guide wire. Angiography was performed using the standard equipment available in the heart catheterization laboratory: 35-mm cinefilm and 6-in amplifier.
