Verification of the possibility of separation of sound source direction via a pair of pressure microphones

In this paper, a microphone system with which the directional separation angle can be set variably is proposed with a pair of sound pressure microphones necessary as a minimum to separate and detect the sound source. After the operating principle is described, an experimental verification is carried out. It is confirmed that the separation and detection of the sound sources are possible by the present system for the sound fields constructed by several sound sources with spectral components different from the single source.
