Study on effect of sterilization for ventilator accessories by full automatic disinfection machines

OBJECTIVE To study the sterilization effects on ventilator accessories disposed by full automatic disinfection machines,thus to prevent and control the occurrence of ventilator-associated pneumonia.METHODS By means of automatic disinfection machines and cleaning frames,a total of 3003 ventilator accessories were cleaned and disinfected according to the criteria,after the cleaning process,the sterilization effect on the ventilator accessories were evaluated by visual estimation and bacteria sampling detection.RESULTS The quality rate conducted by the visual estimation was up to 99.9%,100.0% by sampling for 360 the ventilator accessories.CONCLUSION Using full automatic disinfection machines to clean and sterilize the ventilator accessories can ensure the quality of the ventilator sterilization and reduce the hospital infections effectively,thus lifting the satisfaction from the clinical departments towards the service of CSSD.
