Clinical trial of low-dosage contraceptive.

A low-dosage oral contraceptive containing norethindrone 1 mg. and mestranol .05 mg. was evaluated in 140 patients. A total of 123 women completed 1 to 17 valid treatment cycles for a total of 943 valid cycles. There were no pregnancies and side effects were minimal as compared with side effects of higher dosage forms. Nervousness was the most common complaint.
