The metal/polymer interphase in adhesive joints

Abstract Published experimental studies are reviewed to verify the validity of the assumption that the columnar, cellular structure observed at certain polymer/metal interfaces can be extended to apply to adhesive-bonded joints. It is shown that such a structure would be consistent with the observed properties of thin joints.
